Born into a distinguished musical family in Assam, Debu Bhattacharjee began his journey in vocal music at the age of five. Trained under the careful guidance of his father Late Shree Satish Chandra Bhattacharjee, elder sister Smt. Sikha Bhattacharjee, and Late Shree Sachin Chakraborty, his foundation in music was shaped early with discipline and devotion.

After completing his Electrical Engineering, Debu pursued advanced training in Hindustani Classical Music under Sree Sandeep Ghosh (Scholar, Sangeet Research Academy, ITC-SRA, Kolkata) and Late Ustad Sarfaraz Hussain Khan of the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana, absorbing the finer nuances of classical tradition.

With equal command over Nazrul Geeti, Ragpradhan songs, Bhajans, Light Classical, and modern Hindi and Bengali music, he continues to evolve through collaboration with eminent performers and musicians across India.

A Graded Artist of Prasar Bharati (All India Radio), Delhi, Debu has composed and directed music for Doordarshan National Channel, DD Bharti, feature films, television serials, documentaries, and numerous commercial projects in Delhi and Mumbai. His notable works include Vraj Ki Khoj, Vote Karega UP, and Hindustan Hamara.

He is the Founder and Director of Devgandhar School of Music, an institution dedicated to rigorous training in classical and light vocal music, voice culture, and performance techniques. He also runs HARMONIX, a professional audio-video recording studio offering high-quality production services.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Debu curated several nationally acclaimed online musical initiatives—SATHI, ANANDLOK, and ANAND DHWANI—to support and motivate musicians across the country. He continues to organize live and curated musical baithaks, blending classical, devotional, folk, and contemporary music.

Music, for him, is not just performance—it is discipline, service, and lifelong learning.
